MEET KURT

Kurt is a Registered Social Worker with over a decade of experience in mental health, addictions, crisis intervention, and complex‑care support across the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Regina. He completed his Bachelor of Social Work in 2013 and holds a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, with his MHRM degree nearing completion.

Kurt has provided counselling and crisis stabilization to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, identity, and significant life transitions. His primary therapeutic modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), complemented by training in CBT, DBT, grief and loss, and brief intervention models. He has extensive experience supporting clients through acute mental health presentations, suicide risk, trauma exposure, and disclosures of sexual or relationship violence.

His clinical background includes roles in post‑secondary mental health, addictions services, child and youth mental health, chronic disease management, and emergency pandemic response. Across these settings, Kurt has developed strong competencies in assessment, safety planning, system navigation, and collaborative care within multidisciplinary teams.
Kurt’s practice is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and evidence‑informed care. He believes in meeting clients where they are, supporting them to build resilience and psychological flexibility, and working collaboratively toward meaningful, values‑aligned goals.
Outside of work, Kurt enjoys playing guitar, attending live music, lifting weights, exploring good coffee and tea, and spending time with his family. These practices help him stay grounded and inform the authentic, relational way he approaches his work with clients.
